A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That company processes the request and supplies its results. Cedar County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email message may be kept as needed to answer it. It remains internal unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the servers to receive routine technical information about the visit:

- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Cedar County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Sheriff, courts, MSHP CJIS repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not turned into a file about another person or a consumer report. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention rules, and sharing practices govern information submitted to those tools. Review the applicable partner policy before running a query because this policy does not control that processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside tools. The destination’s privacy policy applies once a visitor leaves this site. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select ads. Their tracking is outside this site’s control.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect collected data, but no Internet service can guarantee absolute safety. Measures are taken to reduce risk without promising that a breach can never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information known to come from a minor will be deleted when identified.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. Missouri’s Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, governs public records rather than creating a private criminal-record database here; RSMo 43.500 defines criminal-history record information. Regardless of location, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
