Access Rules for Case Records
Public Case.net access does not override Missouri confidentiality rules. Protected parties, victims, witnesses, children, juvenile matters, confidential cases, and secured documents may be hidden from a name search or remote view. Personal identifiers can be redacted. A public docket may therefore show that a document exists without exposing its contents online.
Missouri law also closes some records after a qualifying terminated or nonconviction outcome and after certain successfully completed SIS matters. RSMo 610.105 addresses those closures, while RSMo 610.120 governs access to closed records. Closed does not always mean destroyed. Courts and other authorized agencies may retain access allowed by law.
If an online record appears wrong, identify the exact case number and entry before contacting the clerk. A certified disposition from the originating court is stronger evidence than a screenshot or an old repository result.
